HISTORICAL BACKGROUND

University of Celal Bayar, with its academic and organisational identification, was founded on the 11th of July 1992, and is rapidly maturing to become a quality symbol world-wide.

The organisation's name is starting to become known not only in and around Manisa and in Turkey in general, but also in international scientific publication platforms around the world.

This qualitative development established as a result of the cooperation of the academic and the administrative staff, is a sign that University of Celal Bayar will be one of the future's most respectable associations in the scientific field.

Our university with 5 faculties, 4 colleges, 15 occupational colleges, 3 institutes, 6 research and practice centers and 1 research and practice hospital exists in total of 34 departments. To meet the need of infrastructural and staff requirements of these departments was the fundamental aim in the past years.

An important part of the infrastural investments aimed to catch up on constructural and technological developments have been completed; the necessary developmental activities for the remaining part is continuing.

University of Celal Bayar aims to be one of the most respectable organisations in the
Turkish university system based on the principle of experimental data and objective
observations and not based on the dogma of scientific research and education.

WHY UNIVERSITY OF CELAL BAYAR ?

University of Celal Bayar today, giving educational service to thousands of young people, is among the largest three universities in the Aegean region.

Qualitative work force of the staff and rapidly growing infrastructural investments together with suitable conditions of Manisa for university education makes CBU a preferred organisation by thousands of young people.

CBU is beginning to accept students from the higher exam result percentage and those with preferences for the university made on the top of the ÖSYM university forms, which is an indication of the increasing preference for the university. In addition to this, the fact that the quality of students has increased due to good education is another important point

Manisa is a city full of historical and natural beauties. It is a developed and an ideal educational city for those university candidates who wish to study in a university without the chaos of a big city and on the other hand to take advantage of social events such as cinemas, theaters and part-time job opportunities. In addition to this, being only 30 kms away from İzmir and the surrounding towns of tourism such as Çeşme, Foça, and Kuşadası, which are attractive centers, arises the interest of the students at CBU.

HOW TO GET THERE

Manisa is on the main route which links İstanbul to İzmir. It is 30 km from İzmir.

However, the towns of Salihli, Alaşehir, Ahmetli and Turgutlu are located on the Ankara to İzmir route.

It is possible to travel to Manisa via a direct railway route. It is also possible to travel to Manisa and İzmir via a direct railway route from the province towns of Alaşehir, Salihli, Ahmetli and Turgutlu.

Those preferring airway travel have to travel to İzmir first and from there they will have to travel to Manisa via the highway. Similarly, those preferring sea travel have to travel to İzmir and then to Manisa via the highway.

How To Get To The Sites Of The University

Sites of the University of Celal Bayar are located at different campuses. There are public buses in the town which travel to all of these sites.

There are transport services for students studying at the Manisa Muradiye campus.
