ABOUT FACULTY
Being
the first higher education institution in Manisa, The Faculty of
Economic and Administrative Sciences was initially established as a
vocational school affiliated to Ege University in 1975. Then the
duration of study was extended to four years under the title “Manisa
School of Public Finance and Accounting.” In 1987, the school joined to
9 Eylül University as a faculty. When Celal Bayar University was
chartered in Manisa through Act No.3837 of the Turkish Parliament on
July 11, 1992, The Faculty of Economic and Administrative Sciences
became the first and founder faculty of the new university. For the year
2002, student enrollment is 3445 in regular(daytime) and secondary(nighttime)
programs together. The Faculty of Economic and Administrative Sciences
is comprised of three departments: Department of Public Finance,
Department of Business Administration and Department of Economics.
Starting 2001 Fall semester, new students are required to take an
English Proficiency Examination and provided with an English Preparatory
Class for a year upon failing the exam. Afterwards, some courses
determined by their related departments are taught in English each
semester.
The library of The Faculty of Economic and Administrative Sciences holds
over 15000 books and periodicals, which are mostly related to
departments’ fields of study.
“Journal of Management and Economics” is a bi-annual, refereed journal
published by the Faculty since 1995.
