Then the duration of study was extended to four years under the title “Manisa School of Public Finance and Accounting.” In 1987, the school joined to 9 Eylül University as a faculty. When Celal Bayar University was chartered in Manisa through Act No.3837 of the Turkish Parliament on July 11, 1992, The Faculty of Economic and Administrative Sciences became the first and founder faculty of the new university. For the year 2002, student enrollment is 3445 in regular(daytime) and secondary(nighttime) programs together. The Faculty of Economic and Administrative Sciences is comprised of three departments: Department of Public Finance, Department of Business Administration and Department of Economics. Starting 2001 Fall semester, new students are required to take an English Proficiency Examination and provided with an English Preparatory Class for a year upon failing the exam. Afterwards, some courses determined by their related departments are taught in English each semester.
